Westcare Medical Centre Thornlie - Mixed Billing Practice
As of 1st July 2022, Westcare Medical Centre Thornlie will transition to a mixed billing practice. The reality is that Medicare rebates do not cover the cost of providing you with a high-quality professional service. The fees charged by this practice must cover all of our practice costs, including employing receptionists and practice nurses and meeting our operating expenses such as rent, medical equipment, electricity, computers and insurance. We are committed to providing the very best quality healthcare for our patients and pride ourselves in our commitment to deliver this.
We continue to bulk bill the following:
– 16 and under
– DVA
– Over 70 Years
– All pension and concessional cardholders
(Except on weekends and public holidays)

Weekdays are bulk billed for the following patients with a valid Medicare Card;
- children under 16 years of age
- adults over 70 years of age
- Concession/Pension Card holders.
- DVA Card holders
- ALL new patients over the age of 16 will be charged a standard consultation
fee for the initial appointment regardless if you are the holder of a valid concession card.
